Book Arrows: " The Hunger Games: Team Peeta"

"may the odds be..."

I have read and finished "The Hunger Games"...

Uhuh.. uhuh... It does not sound like me, right???....
Being a certified all-Filipino book reader, this a big leap of fate for me... hence, my first ever Book Review and in honor of THG I would call this segment "Book Arrows"... eeeeeeeee

I really do not know the reason behind I instantly had the urge to read it... maybe because of the hype and the buzz about the movie (which I promptly watched and super liked...)... maybe I'm too excited to know what will happen to Katniss and Peeta's pseudo-romance - of course, I'm team Peeta, if there was one... or maybe I just want to live my self-inducted title as a Popularist... or maybe...  just maybe

Anyways, as the book who took away my innocence in modern English-literature, I pretty much enjoyed the experience and breezed through it with relative ease... Suzanne Collins instantaneously occupied a special space in my heart. She portrayed each scenes with distinctive clarity and vividly described every moment in the book (maybe watching the movie first did a little help)...  Her choice of words is simple, direct yet non-committal... I need not to dig deep within the bowels of my lexical asylum to understand what she meant... and the first person narration and single perspective of Katniss made the transitions and turn-arounds more smooth and unforced... all-in-all this Book is definitely an A-list on my own standards...

Going to the more serious issue... I am Team Peeta all the way...
I mean, I feel for Peeta... he did not pretend-  not for the show, not for his survival... He did it all for love and love alone... And, he did tried his best to save Katniss in his own ways... even sacrificing himself in more ways than one... so he deserve his happy ending no matter what...

And the kiss (kisses in the book)... it was sort of his life line... and finding Katniss did not meant it (or denying the true meaning of it) is like being killed in the Arena with a thousand muttations, thrice... that could break a heart of stone into pieces...

In the book, Katniss has more detailed romantic and emotionally confused adventures with Peeta than with Gale... Sure, Gale and Katniss were childhood friends but my limited imagination could not comprehend what history could they have... For a book, details literally makes the difference of who is who... the author would not waste that number of pages for nothing, 'em I right???

This is for other team Peeta members... exclusively... courtesy of tumblr...
Just between the two of us... I am secretly going through the second book... Ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh... wehehehehehe...
I can't help myself... this last line from Book 1 had me flipping...
"I take his hand, holding on tightly, preparing for the cameras,
and dreading the moment when I will finally have to let go. "
Oh... and my rating.... half an arrow...
"ever in your favor..."

Eye Faucet : "Masking with Laughter"

That's the way...

Lately... I am having a hard time...
It does not show right... but really, I am...

My Family is going through our biggest hump...yet... but we are hanging on...
... and together, I know we can see through this...
I have friends that are sad for reasons I cannot disclose...
and as petty as it sounds... Operation Proposal is on a very dramatic turn this week...

Well... I guess that's life...
It gives us pricks and thorns to remind us that not everything is made out of rainbows and unicorns...

Instead of succumbing myself to the darkness, I expose myself to happy thoughts and laughter...
And.. to all of those who are going through the same tough phase like me... enjoy this laughficine (laughter+medicine) vids...

First on my laughficine collection is Vice Ganda...
Wooohoooo... I really enjoyed this episode of GGV... Karla Estrada is high-larious....

Second and second to the last is Uge and her acceptance speech on the 6th Asian Awards... Eugene is unparalleled... score lang ng score

Lastly, is Jon Santos as Miriam... a copycat at its finest.

This made my day... hope it made yours too...

...Uhuh... Uhuh... I like it...

Boredom Assassin: "Padamihan Game"

Sue...

"Padamihan Game"... have you ever heard of it??? played it??? enjoyed it???
Well.. if you haven't... your missing the biggest Uhmphh of your mortalized existence...

One of college friends introduced this game to us (our college group) way back in our (of course) college days... and we pretty much enjoyed this game that up until now whenever we have an opportunity we still indulge ourselves to this game...

I thoroughly love this game that I decided to introduce it to my so-called office friends... and guess what we made a living out of it... We play it on almost all available chances we got... breakfast, lunch, lobby, elevator, production area, laboratory, smoking area.... just anywhere and anytime... (di kami masyadong choosy...)

Anyways, I'll just try explain the game and its mechanics...

First... you and your group should choose a category...
... For beginners, you can start with flowers, animals, country, elements... you can go creative as the game progress within your own group... our group's most creative category yet are love triangles, lahat ng pinapasukan ng kamay, game shows... and more...

Then the game begins... one person on your group will give his first answer, the person next to him, next and next...until it goes back to the first person... its like a CYCLE...
... Lets say your category is the periodic table of elements... the first person can say Oxygen... the next one can say Hydrogen.... and so on and so forth...

You can go clockwise, counter clockwise or any sequence your group wants as long as all of you agree with it...

Of course NO repetition of answers and to add pressure, you can have a time limit... the snappiness makes the game more mentally challenging...
...on our group we usually have 2 strikes before you are out of the game... and once your out you can help out your BFF in winning the game...

It's like a last man standing game... the one with the most examples on the specific category will have the bragging rights...

Most of the mini-rules within the game is group-specific... it means you can make your own rules as long as the majority wins... this also applies on deciding if the answer is acceptable or not...

This is a mentally and physically exhausting game... so be warned... On your most creative categories, I'm so sure you will have the best laughs of your life... you will also experience a pseudo adrenaline rush, time by time... not to mention flash backs and realizations...

Note... this is just a game... so don't get your self screwing everybody just to win... just enjoy and be happy....

Scratch POP: Proposal Daisakusen vs. Operation Proposal

Hellujah... Chance!!!

Remember the smash hit J-Durama series Proposal Daisakusen in 2007???
If you don't or if you have not seen it yet, I am telling you... you missing an f***ing half of your life...
I mean, atleast for me, it is maybe one of the most well-made Asian series of all time... even better than Meteor Garden by a clear mile...
With its perfect mix of romance-fantasy-comedy and relate-ability, what's not to like???

Anyways, wonderin' why am I blabbing and promoting this series after almost half a decade???
Hmmmm... I just found out that Korea is having a remake of this uber-fave series...
Well, well, well... skeptically, I was not so sure if the the Korean remake will stand up to my expectations. I mean... it was sky high, so a tough call. But.. nevertheless, curious enough, I search the K-series online and found this credible YouTube channel (itzmethatzkie) that uploads this series with very readable and lexical english sub... good for me...
And, to my surprise, I actually liked it (a lot)... maybe because they have the same plot or what... I dunno? but I definitely liked it...

Then, I asked myself... which of the two I liked better??? Well, because I am a detail maniac, I have to weigh things through different lights and angles...
Disclaimer: The following thoughts are exclusively mine and mine alone. Whateva similarities represented from others maybe purely coincidental or just a result om wide depicted imagination. wooohoooo

Story: Proposal Daisakusen has a more fast-paced story... more of like direct to the point. Most of the episode focuses only to Ken and Rei (the main protagonist and antagonist). On the other hand, operation Proposal's pacing is slower, more of like taking their time. Although its main gist is still the second-chance love story of Kang Bae Ho and Ham Yi Seul (Ken and Rei's Korean counterpart, respectively), it is more like a baseball-ish story... the sports which most of the characters are connected to.

Casts: This would be quick... Kang Bae Ho is so much cuter than Ken. Rei is way prettier than Ham Yi Seul... I liked Tsuru and Erin in the Japanese version in more ways than one compared to their Korean versions... and... I liked the Korean's version of other male friend... <period>

Chant: I like saying " Hallelujah Chance (with the hand movement)... Wahhhhhh!!!" so much more more more... than "Renovatio, renovatio, renovatio!" Whatyathink???

Well... that's all I think of....for now... atleast....

The Operation Proposal is not finished yet... but I'm closely monitoring it... If you want to experience it too, watch the first episode below... and you'll surely get hooked... no doubt...

And... and... and...if you happen to be a close friend of mine and if you want to see the Japanese series-Proposal Daisakusen (very soon: as recommended) kindly approach me and I would gladly give you a copy...

Renovatio... Renovatio... Renovatio...
