Deal Hunter: "Manila Bay Cruise by Sun Cruises"

Boy: Sana naging butones na lang ako...
Girl: Bakit naman?

My college friends.. Shunga and Yor... purchased vouchers from pakyaw.com to celebrate their joint-24th birthdays last September.

It was a Manila Bay Cruise plus dinner from Sun Cruises... sound promising... hmmmm

We had our (first) reservations last October 1 of the current year. But due to the aftermath of Bagyong Pedring and the landfall of Bagyong Quiel shortly after, the trip was cancelled... (alam mo na safety first)

We had to adjust (walang choice eh..) and we decided to reschedule our trip to much much latter date... and it was October 23 of the same year (ofcourse...).

Anyways, our Manila Bay Cruise did push through... everything seems to be perfect... the weather, the place, the company... except the date... (kumbaga sa pagkain, panis na ang birthday.... wahahahaha)

See what-happened-on-that-day-pictures below...

Accommodation.... check...

Ambience.... check...

Cinematography... check na check...

Food.... so-so (hindi naman kami nag-expect...)

All in all, the cruise-cum-delayed-to-the-max-birthday celebration was a success... (sana maulit...)

And, have already I mentioned that we also had a semi-informal meeting on that day as well for our remaining future activities this year??? ... FVJ birthdays this November and our Christmas get-together!!! Eeeeeeeeekssss-sigh--tiiiddddd

Boy: Para lagi akong malapit sa puso mo...
Girl: Eh.. paano ang butones sa pantalon?

pre-Movie Bullets: "Enteng Ng Ina Mo"

Boy: 'Pag nakikita kita... napupuling ako.
Girl: Ganun?

Maybe this is the perfect marriage in the Philippine movie industry....

Ai-ai Delas Alas collaborating with Vic Sotto for the merger of two blockbuster movie franchises in the history... Tanging Ina and Enteng Kabisote.... Wooooohhhh, top that....

This is definitely the movie to watch out for this MMFF 2011....

See its cinema teaser after the jump.

Boy: Oo.. napupuling in love.

Scratch POP: "Welcoming Mario Maurer"

Boy: Kape ka ba?
Girl: Hindi naman, bakit?

Thai heart-throb Mario Maurer finally graces the Philippine Island of responsibility this week.

He is here to endorse a local clothing brand-Penshoppe and ink a one-movie contract with Star Cinema.
His lucky leading lady will be no less than Erich Gonzales (thanks to her timely  GGV guesting which made her a trending in Twitter-slash-winner...).
The working title of the movie is "Suddenly It's Magic" which will be shot on Thailand and in the Philippines.

You can catch and latch (maybe...) Mario tomorrow (October 28, 2011) at PICC for his Fan Conference and on October 29, 2011 at SMX Convention Center as he top-billed the Philippine Fashion Week.

Boy: Hindi kasi ako makatulog sa gabi kung iniisip kita...

pre-Movie Bullets: "Won't Last A Day Without You"

Boy: Alam mo ba na ang happiness ay di talaga nagsisimula sa "H"?
Girl: Eh saan?

Brace yourself... (para sa mga literal na may brace... goodluck)

'Mommy' and 'Daddy' is returning to the big silver screen...

'Warden' and 'Kamahalan' will make our hearts swoon all over again...

Sarah G. and Gerald Anderson will star on another Rom-Com movie for the second time this year...

Hmmmm... Seems like Ms. Anne Curtis (at sampu sa bumubuo ng No Other Woman) is still not a sure-win for the BOQ title this year. Ms. Sarah G. is having a second wave of box-office ticket sales before this year ends.

Note: For BOQ or BOK race, the committee can combine the ticket sales of multiple movies top-billed by the actor-slash-actress on that year.

Doing our Math basics... "Catch Me... I'm In Love" grossed around 120M earlier this year and "No Other Woman" grossed more or less 250M so far. So, the Sarah G. new film should grossed atleast 130M ticket sales to secure that sweet top spot.

I think this is so attainable and possible... Considering her enormous number of followings and a solid fan-based, this BOQ race is far from over.

I have to stop and show you the cinema teaser for Ashrald's ( monicker for Sarah G. and Gerald's loveteam)
new movie...

"Sexy ka man Di ay"

I gotta... must watch this...maybe twice... Who's with me on November 23???

Boy: Eh di sa "U".

Graham 101 : "WFBC # 26 – GFC"

Boy: Alam mo para na akong WFBC???
Girl: Huh? Bakit?

It is my second time to join WFBC and I'm so excited.

This week's task is to follow each other's blogs thru Google Friend Connect (GFC).
But there's a special catch, ONE BLOG PER BLOGGER ONLY.

I will comply... surely and religiously.

And WOW, WBFC has a new home-dash-new domain.

Confettis for this week's sponsors... Chika Bits and Dens Online.

Boy: Kasi, follow ako ng follow sa'yo.

Boredom Assassin: "The Photocabine"

Boy: Alam mo bang ako si Superman?
Girl: Talaga? Asa ka naman...

I have never been to an authentic-physical photobooth. Pity me, huh!?! Actually it was on my bucket list for some time now.

Lucky me (noodles???), I stumbled upon  this cute site that offers a photobooth experience at your computer's convenience.

All you need to have is a working computer with webcam, adobe flash installed, reliable internet connection, hands for clicking and the FACE to beacon with.

I tried it alone...
And, with few of my friends...

It's fun and amusing at the same time.

Definitely a stress-reliever from a hard day's work.

Just click on the photo-slash-logo above this post or you can go directly to this link. http://www.thephotocabine.com/

Boy: Kasi ikaw ang Kryptonite ko... nanghihina ako kung andyan ka lang sa malapit eh.

Musickness: "Not-for-Minors Song(or MV)"

Boy:  Patay na ba ang ilaw?
Girl: Hindi naman...

I just have to post this before my super-mega-die-hard-Britney Spear's-fan-friend does.... wahahahahaha...

Don't get me wrong... I am not really a fan of Britney (actually a far-cry).
But her latest MV for her song 'Criminal' is so uhmmmpppp... Heard is not for minors...
(Alam mo na... bika lang ang katapat...)

"Criminal"

[Verse 1:]
He is a hustler, he's no good at all
He is a loser, he's a bum, bum, bum, bum
He lies, he bluffs, he's unreliable
He is a sucker with a gun, gun, gun, gun
I know you told me I should stay away
I know you said he's just a dog astray
He is a bad boy with a tainted heart
And even I know this ain't smart

[Chorus:]
But mama I'm in love with a criminal
And this type of love isn't rational, it's physical
Mama please don't cry, I will be alright
All reason aside I just can't deny, I love that guy

[Verse 2:]
He is a villain by the devil's law
He is a killer just for fun, fun, fun, fun
That man's a snitch and unpredictable
He's got no conscience, he got none, none, none, none
A-All I know, should let go, but no
'Cause he's a bad boy with a tainted heart
And even I know this ain't smart

[Chorus:]
But mama I'm in love with a criminal
And this type of love isn't rational, it's physical
Mama please don't cry, I will be alright
All reason aside I just can't deny, I love that guy

[Bridge:]
He's got my name
Tattooed on his arm
His lucky charm
So I guess it's OK
He's with me
And I hear people talk
Try to make remarks
Keep us apart
But I don't even hear
I don't care

[Chorus:]
'Cause mama I'm in love with a criminal
And this type of love isn't rational, it's physical
Mama please don't cry, I will be alright
All reason aside I just can't deny, I love that guy

Mama I'm in love with a criminal
(All I know, should let go)
And this type of love isn't rational,
(But no)
It's physical

(All I know)
Mama please don't cry, I will be alright
(Should have let go)
All reason aside
(But no)
I just can't deny, I love that guy

Boy: Para tayu na lang ang mag-ON.

Musickness: "You Already Song"

Boy: Alam mo... hindi tayo compatible, kasi magkaiba tayu ng gusto.
Girl: HUH?

I am digging this girl. (bet na bet...)

I like her style in singing... smooth, soulful, rustic and effortless (parang imported...).
Seems like Dolphy and Zsa Zsa produced a talented singer for a daughter.

I particularly can relate to this stanza:

"Nasearch mo nang lahat sa internet
Naubos na ang load sa kakatext
Naghihintay ka lang na may makukulit ulit"

...it's like, I've been there, done that.

Peg ko ngayon ang MV nya. See and sing-a-long with it after the jump...

Zia Quizon "Ako Na Lang" Lyrics

Naghahanap pa ng maaaya
Pagkat sadyang walang magawa
Nagsasayang ng bawat oras sa wala (hala)

Nasearch mo nang lahat sa internet
Naubos na ang load sa kakatext
Naghihintay ka lang na may makukulit ulit

What are you waiting for
Call my number, knock on my door
Nandito lang ako
How I wish you'll let me know

Whatever man ang gusto mong gimmick
Sabay sa jamming at ka-duet mo sa gig, astig

What are you waiting for
Call my number, knock on my door
Nandito lang ako
How I wish you'll let me know

Boy: Ako, gusto kita... Ikaw naman, ako ang gusto. Di ba magkaiba?

Scratch non-POP: "Christopher Lao is Back"

Boy: Alam mo, parang kang baso na walang laman...
Girl: Bakit naman?

Remember Chrisopher Lao?
He was once a victim of cyber bullying because of his infamous floating car. (poor guy...)
If you still cannot connect, may this video help...

Now... does it it ring a bell?

Well, his back, still floating but a little bit of a vengeance. He is now a commercial model (ironically or fatefully) for BPI Auto Insurance. Sosyal!

See his first ever commercial-slash-parody below.(stepping stone ba ito sa showbiz???... wag naman)

Boy: Kasi gusto kitang punuin ng pagmamahal ko.

Glutton-ing-Out: "A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante"

Boy: Malungkot ka ba?
Girl: Bakit naman?

We are supposed to avail the vouchers we bought in Pakyaw.com last October 1, 2011... for the double birthday celebration of two of my college friends. It was a manila bay cruise with plated dinner  by Sun Cruises. But due to the aftermath of Bagyong Pedring and the landfall of Bagyong Quiel, our schedule was cancelled... huhuhuhu! (adventure sana kung natuloy...may Maxicare naman...huwatttt?)

But pushy as we are, we still stormed the storms (literally) and still went for plan B... which was only devised and revised few minutes after the cancellation. One of the birthday boy and I decided to meet at MOA for a quick chit chat and some chops. He needed to buy something for his luncheon birthday the day after and I have to get my weekly dose of bookgasm.

We were about to call it a day, when two of our friends called and said that they were own their way to MOA as well... So, that's how we basically had a mini-birthday-slash-plan B get together. (Peace out....)

After we met up with our two friends, our next destination was already a no-brainer. We headed straight to Timezone and hit few high notes here and there.

Hitting those impossible notes and timing those runs were pretty exhausting. After around 20 songs or so, we are starved, thirsty and weakened. So, we decided to find a place that serves our fave PPP- Pasta, Pizza and People.

I suggested this resto that I have already tried before... "A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante !"

We sat and immediately scanned the menu to find the perfect foods that could quench our immediate hunger.

After few verbal and optical debates, we made a semi-unanimous decision and ordered 2 pastas and a pizza.

Bacon Cheese Burger Pizza...

Chicken Chuck Spaghetti...( i forgot the actual name)

and, Hungarian Sausage Penne...(forgot the name too...)

We had a great time at "A Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante." the place was cozy, classy and relaxed... sort of laid back atmosphere. The food was great too... for its size and taste, it is very affordable and sulit. Good for barkadas and cliques. Surely I'd be coming back for more.

I'd give this resto 4 and a half LICKS...
Remember, the more licks I give, the more I want to taste your food!!!

Boy: Kasi nag-iisa ka lang sa puso ko eh.

Boy: Cause I can't take my eyes off you...

Boredom Assassin: "Dot.A 2"

Boy: Lupang Hinirang ka ba?
Girl: Bakit?...

I am a self-confessed, guilty-as-charged Dota addict... (atleast 2-3 years ago)

I have been since my 3rd year in college. My brothers was the first ones who introduced me to this single controlled-character, team-strategic, good-vs-evil, offline computer game. At first, it was hard learning the ropes... Figuring out what skills each characters have, the right item at the right time, lurking+ gang-bang 101 and group combos is one helluva task and might need an IQ higher than the average... not to mention the mind and finger reflexes should be equally fast and agile...

Many might think (or sometime loudly say) that what we are playing is just the same each and every time and we ain't gonna gain anything from this... But let me tell you something... what we are after is the.... ADRENALINE RUSH...

Yes, we feel it, experience it and craved it... It's the mental adrenaline rush that we cannot get enough with. Just sitting, not actually engaging in real danger nor any death defying activity, we feel that certain blood acceleration as we try to go for the kill or run away in the verge of dying. Woooaahhhh!

Like a steady permutation, we are yet to discover the possibilities of DotA. But as we get closer, the goddamn creators introduce new heroes, items, added twists and changes which brings us back to zero. I guess this the beauty of this game... the constant renovation and innovation to keep patrons wanting more and maintaining a fresher start on each released versions.

And the latest warcraft flash news... is Dot.A 2!

It was already introduced and  enjoyed by few chosen over-the-top players and yet to be released to commoners.... but Oh my... it gets me so excited. I think I'm having a renewal of 'fate'...

Better graphics... New look... Defining Effects... this is like DotA reborn or something close...

Anyways you can check the links below... for the teaser of a lifetime...

Here is the new look of some of my favorite heroes...
(well as most of my co-players know... I am an exclusive ranged-type player)

You can also check the video below for the semi complete 3d model of the heroes.

Movie Bullets: "No Other Woman"

Nice to see you again...Copenhagen!

If you are looking for an orgasmic opening? This movie is the right way to go.

Anne Curtis opened the movie not just with a bang but some fireworks as well. Wearing her skimpy, Versace-ish bikini as she emerges from the water is really a must-see scene in this movie. You won't even understand what does Derek says in his voice-over or (worse) you won't even notice Derek's voice-over (period)... that's how magnetic Anne Curtis (and/or her body) is.

As for the acting... Anne did a very impressive portrayal of a rich, bitchy, modern-day play girl. She nailed her part, particularly in her almost no-non-sense seduction and flirtation. I could not think of any other actress who could fit as Cara... and I mean it in a good way.

Derek Ramsay, on the other hand, was also equally brilliant. With his good looks, great body and charisma, he is the prefect candidate to play as Ram- the still desired taken man. Altough, we could think of other actors who are also qualified for Ram's role, Derek swayed to the part and did an excellent job. With his little-semi butt exposure, he definitely earned a nod from the movie-goers.

Christine Reyes, for me, was a revelation to this movie. Usually, she was all over the place in acting, bordering the hysterical. But in this movie, she did great in attacking her character subtly. She was almost believable, realistic and point on. She truly embodied her character.

The plot, as we all know and a given fact, was used, abused and confused. We all have seen it from TV's, paperbacks and on the silver screens as well. But what makes this movie different??? For me, it's an absolute no-brainer... the SCRIPT.

The script was well-thought of, metaphorically funny and spotless. These were the lines that one would want to say if they are on the same situation- witty, double meaning and scratchy. These were also good verbal comebacks in a bloody cat fight. All in all... this gives the film the edge it needs.

My only critic was there were some issues that were not resolved in the movie. Like Ram's wayward relationship with his biological father and father-in-law and Cara's relationship with her father as well. This may say that the movie comes realistic enough which implies that not all problems can be solved or... on the negative side, that these angles were just forgotten and was set aside.

Nevertheless, the film was worth the money you will spend. An easy two thumbs from me.
Half a bullet for yah....Remember, the fewer the bullets the more I like it.

Soon... monsoon!

Scratch POP: "Limelighting Amanda Bynes"

Hello sunshine... shoe shine!

For me, Amanda Bynes is the Ultimate-Mega-Ultra-Super-for All Seasons Rom-Com and Chick Flick Princess. So, back-off Lindsay Lohan and Hillary Duff.

I love the way she mixes comedy, romance and swagger in her movies. The way she delivers her lines is so spot-on and she always do that weird thing with her eyes that I find very adorable.

Well, here is my list of her movies that I love the most... (movie poster plus trailer)

1. What a Girl Wants...

2. Lovewrecked...

3. She's the man.. (maybe my most favorite by far...)

4. Sydney White...

Rumors spread that after she did Hair Spray in a supporting role in 2007, she will quit show business... But she did appear as an over-the-top antagonist in Easy A just last year...

I wonder what happened to her?

I miss her so much... hope she will do another movie soon...

Let's go... couch potato!

Glutton-ing-Out: "Souk Kafe"

Salam-Marhaba...Kampanerang Kuba!

A not-so-good office friend of mine had been inviting us (for centuries...) to try this Arabic themed semi-restaurant-semi-cafe at Robinson's Pala-Pala in Dasmarinas, Cavite.

She only has good words to say about this place. Like the food is delicious, the ambiance is different and pretty cheap too.

So, because we got tired of her and her crazy-antics we decided to give in to her whims (para sa kanyang kaligayahan...).

After our first (hopefully not the last) ping-pong mini tournament at our company's SRC (Sports and Recreational Center), we decided to go straight to this place and eat to our hearts' content.

First impression?.. the place was pretty interesting outside and equally eye-catching on the inside.
The lighting is very impressive and inviting... plus the aroma of the open kitchen hits a different knob in my olfactory system.

We checked the menu and ordered the foods and drinks we decided to try. While we are waiting for our orders, we checked if the place complements our faces (talking about lighting and cinematography...)

When the waiters served our meals, we immediately warmed up our seats, prayed and pigged-out.

We had two pastas...

Bacon and Cream...
Four-Cheeses and Bacon...
We also ordered two pizzas...

Garlic and Cheese...
Margharetta (libre ni Adam)...
We also ordered Kheema (authentic Arabic recipe: spiced ground pork with yogurt sauce) and fried rounds...

And, Original Alokokay Iced tea to top it all...

The food was surprisingly delicious and delectable... just be cautious in adding a little more of that Lemon Pepper condiment.

Well, she (my office friend) has the right to mumble this often... all along. Wished we believed her sooner.

This would be my first food and restaurant critic... So, pardon me for this rate.

Souk Kafe... you have 4 out of 5 LICKS!!! The more licks I give, the more I want to taste your food!!!

Inshalla... la la la... in the morning!
